As part of SMH’s Ocology Genetics program, Nicole Wood, Certified Genetic Counselor is able to teach and offer medical help to cancer patients. Recently, the Education portion of the program has been expanded to better serve patients suffering from Cancer.
When the new Institute for Cancer Care is being designed, industrial planners, staff & physician teams will all have input on it’s schematic. But SMH can’t build a patient-centered facility without their input as well.
As cancer cases continue to increase, SMH plans to expand the existing team of experts in the near future. Making sure that the patient’s care plan is smooth and time efficient will be an important part of the new Institute for Cancer Care
When SMH’s new Institute opens, it will provide a place for the entire cancer team to work on the individual patient’s care. The continuum of care will include all of the supportive care programs that currently exist – all in one place.
