Sarasota Memorial’s Auxiliary contributes in so Many Areas – on WSRQ’s Health Check with Heidi Godman

Apart from being some of the first people that patient & family see, the volunteers can also help reduce the stress of a potentially scary event with experience; The Auxiliary attempts to station volunteers into units where they have personal experience, like in the Breast Health Program.

Other programs where Volunteers work include infant hearing screenings, cuddlers and lost & found.

The Auxiliary has several 4 hour shifts throughout the day, and depending on the time of the day, the volunteers are performing different jobs. From the Medical Library to the Gift Shop all the way to Patient contact jobs – there are a variety of areas to work in.
